Mock Trial a Real Test of Judicial Knowledge
In the 2017 Ohio Mock Trial case, Pat Justice v. CAT News et al., students considered a case of defamation of a public official by a news station.
In preliminary results from Wood County’s District Mock Trial Competition, Perrysburg High School Court Explorers’ Team Hayride and Team Lex et Ordo won both trials and will advance to regional competition on Feb. 10. Results are not final until the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education checks scoresheets and verifies results.
The district competitions were hosted in 27 counties and more than 1,000 legal professionals served as volunteer judges, coordinators and advisers.
