Buckeye CableSystem changes name to Buckeye Broadband

Customers can expect same commitment to quality, customer service

TOLEDO, Ohio – June 1, 2016 – Buckeye CableSystem has changed its name to Buckeye Broadband effective today. The name change represents the company’s increasing focus on delivering high-speed Internet to its customers, who look to the company to connect them to products and services in the digital age.

“For over fifty years, Buckeye has been recognized for innovation and exceptional customer service,” said Jeff Abbas, president, Buckeye Broadband. “While our commitment to customer service will not change, our name is changing to reflect more closely the services we now offer, and will offer, by way of our robust broadband network. As a technology leader, we must tie our brand name directly to our business strategies.”

The name change reflects the growing “Internet of Things”, where customers use the Internet for much more than visiting a website or checking email. The Internet is used to stream music and movies, video chat with friends and families, shop, control in-home devices like thermostats and security cameras, and much more.

“What our customers can do with the Internet is remarkable, but it only works if they have access to high-speed, reliable service,” Abbas said, “and that’s what Buckeye Broadband delivers.”

For years, customers have relied on Buckeye to provide both Internet and telephone service in addition to cable television. This name change reflects this wider range of services that Buckeye provides its customers. But the change isn’t just cosmetic. Buckeye Broadband is committed to expanding our customers’ ability to use and enjoy the Internet, and the company is planning for additional broadband service options in the near- and long-term future. At the same time, Buckeye Broadband will continue to deliver all of its existing cable and broadcast channels.
“As an innovative technology company, we are constantly evolving to meet customer needs,” Abbas said. “Exceptional, high-speed Internet service delivery has become the core of our business, especially as the “Internet of Things” drives innovation in nearly every area of our economy and our lives.”
